I keep hearing what a great athlete Alford is. Isn't that par for the course for any professional athlete? Does that merit a roster spot over another great athlete who performs better?

I'd prefer baseball players to athletes. They're not always one in the same.

I mean, if you're trying to catch lightning maybe. Alfrord probably has a better chance of being in the future over some of the other guys. I'd keep letting him play (along with Newman) just to see because we're not exactly gunning for a pennant this year.
