I was very surprised he cleared waivers when he was DFA'd. He's a very good utility player and I thought he would be claimed.

6-6. Howard puts 2 on with a double and his mandatory walk and Mears lets the tie run score. Howard now has an unbelievable 32 walks in 44.1 innings. No MLB pitcher should be that bad.
