Out are the hitting coach and a base coach.

Oscar Marin deserves to be next.

Marin certainly didn't seem to help Keller any.

He didn't help, period.

Name one guy who has improved under Marin.

No one, that's who.

Another brilliant Cherington hire.
Dillon Peters

Chasen Shreve

Chris Stratton

Anthony Banda

Shea Spitzbarth

Phillip Evans

The team went 13-12 down the stretch with little help from their starters, save the dumpster dive Peters. The bullpen really started to gel, and that's despite the overuse of all, and the need to use a lot of innings from guys even JC couldn't help.

You have too much of an axe to grind. Everything you complain about with BC can be proven otherwise most times.

Oh, that's right. We're just sheep.

The team improved 18.9% record wise from last season. Yep, go ahead and go back multiple years. All that matters is they improved, which is what you wanted, and they did.

But yeah, I get it. You and Shed didn't get a WS victory, so of course the guy is a failure.

I thought Phillip Evans pitched pretty well. And Difo and Nogowski showed promise.  ;)

That's all we get- promises. ThiscMarin guy is all blow and no ho.

If you don't like scary replies, don't make scary posts.

We lose 101 games and you cling to THESE guys in a wasted effort to defend Marin.

In fact, he seemed to have terrible judgment. Coaches can only do so much. But they can also add to the problem if they do their job poorly. As bad as the team already was, Cora managed to run them into more outs and less runs. He was the 3B coach for 5 years and started poorly and never improved.

Yeah the nail in the coffin for me was how many times he kept sending the slowest runners on the team so they can get thrown out by 40 ft.

I read that Cora got 19 Pirates thrown out at home this year to lead MLB. Well, at least we led in something.  :D
I am sure that Moran is elated! Moran couldn't score from second even if they rolled the ball in from the warning track

Oh, now it's "cling to these guys". You asked a question. Certainly, Phillip Evans was there for some levity. The others were taken off the scrap heap, and turned in solid seasons as Pirates.

Again, every time your responses get challenged with exactly what you asked for, you move the goalposts.

"All I ask is one position be improved" Oh, there were multiple positions improved. Well then....

"All I ask is improvement on the field" Oh, they improved by 19 percent.

"They finished last and didn't win the division. Complete failure". "Did you expect them too?" "No!"

Stratton? Bednar? Shreve?

Impossible to say with any certainty that he had a positive or negative effect on anyone in particular.  I only mention Keller because he is supposed to have great stuff but is struggling in the transition to the majors.  He gets two strike counts quite a bit but has great difficulty finishing batters off and you would think a pitching could help with that.

25th in TBA.  Guy's gone.

28th in TERA.  Cherington hire.  Still here.  How many games will you win when you cough up 5.08 ERPG?

Answer:  61 if you're lucky.

Let's keep the guy.
