Pirates Prospects is reporting that the Bucs have signed former Redbird to a minor league contract. The lefty will get an opportunity to join the bullpen, or become depth at Indy.

Taking a no risk flyer on a lefty who has had some past success is always a reasonable gamble.

Hoping that Lyons does better than Secrist.

The last two outings for Lyons have been unimpressive. At this time it appears he may no longer be a candidate to fill one of the bullpen spots. Kingham, Burdi and Liriano may secure the final 3 spots in the bullpen.
