Rodriguez.

The Pirate BP has a disturbing penchant for giving up walks and HRs. Rodriguez did both.

Tropeano.

Lloyd McShelton dug into his bag of foolish tricks and decided to pull Brault after 3 innings, 3 hits, 1 run (0 ERs), 1 BB, 5 Ks and 68 pitches. He's thrown as many as 80 pitches 2 starts ago.

This shrewd move accomplished 2 things:

(1) made sure Brault knew his mgr has no confidence in him and needs to get him out ASAP before he screws up, and

(2) made the BP pitch 2/3rds of the game even on a day when the starter was doing fine.

Tropeano bailed his idiot manager out by pitching 2.2 innings of scoreless relief. Those 6 BP innings still required 4 relievers. But it could have been a lot worse if Tropeano had not pitched almost half of it.

I have an idea. Let's tell McShelton the next game has been moved to Antarctica and he's to fly there immediately, ahead of the team. (One way ticket of course.)
