MLB announced an extension with Fox TV until 2028 for an estimated $5.1B . Wonder how much the Buccos will pocket from this deal?

I think the bigger question is how are the negotiations going on with with their next local cable contract. I'm not sure anyone outside of the organization knows the exact numbers, but estimates I've seen put it in the 20/25 million a year range.

The rights fees to air sports are still on the rise, but the team has declining attendance and TV ratings, so it would appear that they aren't negotiating from a position of strength.

Since I live in Atlanta I'm not certain of this but I think I read that though attendance was down, TV ratings were up, so they will be negotiating from a position of strength.

I don't know what this season's numbers are, but they have been going down for a couple of years. 2017 dropped 27 percent from 2016.

I was thinking that the Pirates agreement with ATT Sports Net expires after this season. I am a little surprised that nothing has been written regarding negotiations of a new contract, or that an extension has been signed by the Bucs and ATT.

One complicating factor is that ATT Sportsnet might be for sale.

I did not that. This could complicate negotiations.
