When I was stationed there, I went to a lot of Hornets/Bats games. They had a pretty good core too in 1992, that you might have heard of.
Derek Jeter, Mariano Rivera, Andy Pettitte, Jorge Posada. I think they did okay.
You are right those were four excellent players. Possibly the players at Greensboro may not be as good as those 4, but I think there is a lot of talent on that roster which should start arriving in Pittsburgh late next year, or for sure in 2023.

Checking some stats for Pirates minor league players, and Jared Triolo caught my eye. He has 14 homers and over 70 rbi. He was drafted in 2019 by the former FO. He might be an interesting prospect to watch. Currently he is not one of the 30 top prospects in the Bucs organization.

Two more homers for Gonzales tonight, and 7 rbi. He is red hot right now.

I wonder if the Mouse still feels the same way?

The Grasshopper team has clinched a playoff spot in High A. I am sure there are those who doubt it, but this team has some talented players which should gradually join the Pirates in a couple years. Guys like Gonzales, Priester and Peguero are players which could have been moved to Altoona for the final weeks of the season, but they remained with Greensboro to be part of the group of a winning team. I am sure some will disagree with not promoting the prospects, but the current FO wants to instill a winning atmosphere to players at the minor league level.

The following players from Altoona are heading to Indy. Martin, Castro, Cruz, Contreras, Mitchell, Smith-Njgba, De Los Santos. I am not sure if AAA has a roster limit, and if they do, it would seem some players for Indy are going to be released to make room for these additional players. The Indy Indians have 10 games remaining on their schedule.

I just looked it up, it's 28.

I looked at Indianapolis' roster. They have 33 players but 7 of them are on injured/restricted/rehab list and don't count.
I was really surprised to see there are only 6 guys in Indy right now on the 40 man roster.

Is there another De Los Santos? They already have Enyel on the active roster.

So assuming there isn't another De Los Santos, of the 7 that means:
De Los Santos is already on the major league roster
Max Kranick just was placed on the IL. That means there is another spot on the active roster.
There appears to be 2 open slots in Indy. So by my calculation, 3 guys have to go at Indy, or placed on IL.
I guess we'll know tomorrow though, yes? Not sure how all this works, kind of interesting though. I have been learning about the minors side of things from this board this year.
