Kang is wearing number 22 in Bradenton. I wonder if he would be given that number in Pittsburgh?

That would be an insult.

Kang 0-1 with 2 walks last night. He's not going to be pitched to very much in A+ after destroying the pitching for a couple straight games.

I guess it's good that he's getting the defensive reps at short. He's not made any errors yet.

He's played 2 games at short and 2 at 3B. Hurdle said, "we are just trying to move him around to give him some versatility."

I wonder if he can play 1B.

I was thinking the same thing. Over the past 15 games Bell, Polanco, and SRod are in deep funks:

H/AB AVG OPS

Polanco 7/52 .135 .464

Bell 8/54 .148 .435

SRod 4/29 .138 .426

That lack of production is a lot to overcome. The team record of 4-13 over the last 17 reflects it.

I'm sure he can play it better than Josh Bell. Whatever gets his bat in the middle of the lineup works.

And yet our manager decided to have a rotation in our OF??? There's no excuse for Polanco to get more than 1 or 2 starts a week while Meadows, Marte and Dickerson are on the roster.

If the Pirates want to put their best lineup on the field Kang will eventually be in it. I'm not sure if he can play 1st but I would be willing to find out.
