I'm okay with Castro at short if Bae is at second. Castro and Mathias is not a good combo. One prone to errors, the other prone to not getting to anything that isn't hit straight at him. Mathias has to be the least quickest, slowest middle infielder in the history of history. In his yearbook where they asked what you'd like to be, Mathias said, "As fast as a 40 year old catcher"

Not real crazy about Mathias starting. I realize the Pirates are facing a leftie but I feel having Marcano at short and moving Castro to 2nd, or starting Suwinski in CF and moving Bae to 2nd, offer better opportunities to score runs, not to mention having a better defensive unit on the field.

I think the only Oakland player I’ve heard of is Bleday.

I don't think Mathias could beat the pierogies in a race.

Can someone tell me what these hats are that they’re wearing? I’ve seen them a few times? Do they have some significance?

Actually…I’m gonna start a thread about this. NM.

A catcher’s interference call, a stolen base, and a single gives Oakland a 1-0 lead through one half inning.
