Cruz with a triple, Castro with his 8 th homer and Martin with homers 6 and 7 at Erie tonight. It is more interesting with following the minors than the current Pirate team.

Because BC chose to improve those cities' teams snd not Pittsburgh's.

He couldn’t possibly play it any worse.

I watched Cruz last night in Erie and was very impressed. Tough to tell a lot from one game but he is much more athletic than Polanco. Very fast and coordinated. Had three hits and probably could have gone for an extra base in two of them. Made a diving stop in the hole playing short and threw out the runner by half a step at first.

Left the game wondering when he would be promoted. He did strike out in the 8th, but a bad strike call played a part. Seemed to have good pitch recognition.

Maybe I am just a dreamer, but here are a few minor league Pirate prospects who are playing well, and will make the MLB club very interesting in the next couple of years. Matt Frazier, Cal Mitchel, Peguero, Nick Gonzales, Priester, Cruz, Castro, Mason Martin, Mlodzinski. I am sure there are others who I could add to this list, and in my opinion the Bucs are heading in the right direction.

Altoona lost a double header tonight, but Mason Martin hit 3 homers between the 2 games. His power seems legit.
