That doesn't apply to most teams, especially the Pirates. Even if you develop a stud prospect, he becomes a FA after 6 years. So it's like saying they will complete the rebuilding when Hayes signs his FA contract with another team. And teams don't like FAs to walk without getting any return so they trade them in the 4th or 5th year. So if you can't rebuild a team into a contender within 3 years, it isn't going to happen.

most teams didn't have an organization built by NH who built an organization that could compete year in and year out.

Should be three years tops for a guy like BC.

So, he is making more alone than the entire Pirates roster. I can't even rely on Taillon to remain healthy for half a season.

We need to trade for a AJ Burnett 2.0 type pitcher this offseason (James Paxton). A veteran leader who shows the young guys grit and some fire. Obviously, he needs to get healthy. We also need a starting CF. Reynolds is not one. Get rid of Polonco, Williams and Archer, that is a foregone conclusion especially Archer with his salary. We also need a RF and C. If we had a real Owner who gave a poo about winning, we would sign Ozuna or Realmuto. Fill in from there with bench pieces and bullpen help.

2b - Frazier/Gonzales

SS - Newman/Tucker

3b - Hayes

Lf - Reynolds

Cf - TBD

Rf - TBD

C - Starter / Stallings

Paxton

I'm happy with Stallings catching. IMO a good defensive catcher is a necessity. Stallings is good behind the plate, has a good arm, is good at framing and seems to work well with the pitchers. If he hits .250 and 10 HRs a year that's a plus.
