Peguero flies out. Bucs lose a chance to score a second run. 1-0 good guys, bottom of second.

That hurts. We get the bases loaded with the bottom of the order, and Snell broke out his best pitches to whiff Joe and Reynolds.

De Los Santos puts out the fire in the 5th and sets them down in order in the 6th. Good outing but still down 2-1.

3 hits and 1 run that`s efficient.

In the 5th, the Pirates trailed 2-1 with the bases loaded, 1 out and the top of the order coming up. Joe struck out swinging at a ball that didn't even make it to the plate before it bounced. Then Reynolds struck out. That was their last real threat.

Newly called up Alika Williams made a nice debut, drawing a walk in his first MLB plate appearance, an 11 pitch dandy. He also took a high throw and acrobatically tagged potential base stealer Kim on the back of the ankle for the out.
Perdomo and Shelton were both ejected, Perdomo for allegedly intentionally throwing at Manny Machado (nailing him dead center of the back with a 98 mph fastball ) and Shelton was ejected after coming out to voice his objections. Nice staring match between Machado and Perdomo; I give the win to Perdomo because Machado was still carrying his bat like he was going to use it or something.
Padres sure are all about the drama, and a whole lot less about winning baseball games with that lineup.

That was a heck of a tag by Williams on a bad throw to get the runner!
