No game thread yesterday, but Buccos clinched a winning record, and Kang went 1-1. I bet Kang gets at least one start in the last two games.

The scary thing about the game was Brault went 2.1 innings of scoreless ball. Of course it was against one of the worst teams in baseball.

I’d definitely like to win one of the remaining two games. I don’t want to have to listen all off-season about how there was an asterisk by an 81-80 record. 82-79 sounds so much better.

And Neverauskas pitched or whatever you call it when he pitches 1 inning and gives up runs. He's been scored upon in 15 of 24 outings. 26 IP, 25 runs (24 earned). Probably the most consistent pitcher on the staff. He's also 8th on the team in HRs allowed (9) despite being only 15th in innings (26). The following have pitched at least 20 more innings and given up fewer HRs: Archer, Santana, Feliz, Rodriguez, Glasnow, Vazquez, Crick. I know they're trying to take a long look at him but Neverauskas has done nothing to inspire confidence for next year. His ERA is almost Van Benschoten-esque.

He needs to change his strategy. Thinking that they will never expect him to throw it right down the middle isn't working.

That's hilarious. I hadn't even thought of that.

I was thinking the same thing. It reminded me of when McClendon had a locker room champagne celebration when they won their 72nd game because a rainout ensured that they could not lose 90. ::) Champagne for only losing 89! Lloyd set the bar pretty low.
