Kingham is supposed to be a long reliever and did well but in Hurdle's mind-numbing formula, that means only 2 innings/30 pitches. So now the game's in the hands of the struggling Rodriguez.

Nice job by Rodriguez to come in and get out Votto Puig and Schebler. He needed a clean inning to restore some kind of confidence. Hopefully find a way to add an insurance run for Vazquez in the 9th.

1 out in the 9th and Vazquez whiffs the next batter but YET ANOTHER SNAFU results in Cervelli NOT catching the ball and the batter reaches 1B after striking out. Next batter singles to RF but Reyes misplays it and runners are at 2B and 3B. Vazquez catches the next batter looking for strike 3. Vazquez whiffs the final batter on 3 pitches. 2-0 final.

Yay we win.

I'd note that despite all of the cries from the Peanut Gallery (including me) Jordan Lyles did just fine, thank you.

Good win to start the series hopefully continue to stack wins this series against a Reds team that is not playing well at all.

Just think if we had won the ones we gave away, would have been a good start to season.

Hopefully the BP will be more of what we think and less of what we've seen, haha.
