The Pirates score a run playing small ball. But the Twins failed to challenge a safe call at 2nd. A challenge and Dickerson would have been out.

Can't send Polanco there. The ball was very shallow. Plus, he took an awful turn around third base.

Modify:

After replay, probably more blame on Polanco and that turn. He looked like he wasn't moving very fast.

I thought it was right to send him as there were 2 outs, the ball was dying in the grass and Polanco is fast. No way he should have been out by so much except that he made the route from 3B to home about twice as far as it really is. Terrible base running.

A weird play might cost them the game. Why didn't Nova take charge of that flyball?

Nova pitched ok. The wild pitches really hurt him.

Looks like the real pirates are showing up. Lazy, defensively inept, and lack of fundamentals.

Still hitting though, so there's always a chance. Keep scoring runs

Nova's not getting off to a good start. A continuation of his 2nd half last year. Seems like he's a run of the mill back of the rotation pitch to contact guy, to me.

The Twins didn't know what to do either and was almost doubled up.
