Kevin Kramer Is Struggling

Kevin Kramer is having a miserable ST. The strikeouts are mounting, and he may soon become a former Pirate. When he was in the minors I thought he might have been the future second baseman. He has really hit bottom.

for a couple of years he looked like he was going to be better than Newman. Maybe he has topped out. He is another player who always seemed easy to root for (I seem to write that a lot - maybe the Bucs just have had a lot of likeable players in the organization).

Wow, I just posted the same sentiment in another thread. I don't know who would want Kramer right now, he's so lost at the plate.

He's better than a guy who Ks almost 100% of the time. He missed last year altogether and it obviously set him back. I think he'll play at AAA this year to see if he can resurrect his career.

Kramer is getting the start at third against the Yankees tonight. I hope he has a couple of good at bats because 8 strikeouts in 12 at bats is not very good.

Pirates hitting prospects in general have had a miserable spring. I guess Kramer is not much of a prospect at this point due to his age. I agree, i thought he could end up being similar to Walker at second.

Kramer was assigned to minor league camp after today’s game. This could be the end of his career with the Pirates. He is sliding further down the depth chart.

Kramer was removed from the 40 man roster in November and had no realistic chance to make the roster out of ST. So this isn't necessarily the end of his Pirate career. That will depend in how his season goes in AAA this year. But it doesn't look good.

Oliva, Santana and Spitzbarth were also cut.
