Golly, this Neverauskas kid sure is good. The Pirates sure are smart to gain inroads to the wealth of baseball talent in Lithuania, South Africa and India instead of paying bigger bucks for players from Cuba and Japan.

Then Smoker only needs 1 pitch to give up a 2-run double that raises Neverauskas' ERA to 11.85.

Gee whiz, it's hard to believe a pitching staff where all but 2 guys are making at or barely over the MLB minimum could be this bad. ::)

Smoker cleans up Nevernever’s mess: the bases are now empty.

I'd like anyone who is capable of going back to two plays.

1) look at Bell's throw to mercer early in the game trying to get a 3-6-1.

2) look at Bell's (almost non-existent) stretch at 1b on the overturned bases loaded out at first base.

He's .329 since June 10th.  He will need to hit .329 for the rest of his career to be a GOOD starting ML 1bman.  He costs an incredible number of key outs in the field.

It's usually a couple per game.  They are somewhat hidden at times, but if you watch him closely they will pop right out at you.

A smart team would be punting on this guy as a 1bman.  There's effectively no chance he will be a good option there.
