I would platoon them at catcher and let them be a DH on the off days. Keeping them both fresh . Neither is considered great behind the plate.

Would you trade one? Or platoon them, thus using 2 very high draft picks to get 50% production out of 2 players? If that's the plan, why not use those 2 high picks to address 2 different needs and get 100% production out of 2 players.

Just read that Nick Gonzales went on the 60 day IL with the heal injury. Both last season and now this season he has missed games due to injury. I think the Pirates should consider taking infielder Brooks Lee with their #1 pick.

I bet Brooks Lee is one of their top three choices at this point.

One of the outlets has the Pirates taking former Buc Lou Collier’s son. For some reason I hope they don’t pick him. I guess I figure since Lou Collier didn’t become a star, his son may be the same. I should not think that way, but that is how I assume that young Collier will be.

The last youngster mentioned in the article is Cole Young. He played high school ball in the school district next door to mine. I saw him play as a freshman and sophomore. Very smart, very skilled even as a 14-15 year old.

One of the outlets has the Pirates taking former Buc Lou Collier’s son.

Collier's yet another story of the 20-year streak: installed as a rookie shortstop, the team limped along a bit under .500 until be was replaced at short at the end of August, at which point the team commenced one of its patented collapses. Being the Pirates, they waived Collier in the offseason, and kept the collapse guy (Abe Nunez). Then everyone knew the collapse guy wasn't ready, so in two installments they threw $21 million at Pat Meares, who ended up producing like - Lou Collier.

Final kicker: in 2002 the Mets traded Lou Collier for - you guessed it - Jason Bay. And the Mets got a pitcher, too.
