Are they going to be able to get in an regulation game?

What a great inning for the Pirates. A walk and 4 straight hits turn into a 4-0 lead and 38 pitches for Bum. All with 2 outs.

Perfect fundamentals. He timed it so that he was coming in on the ball as he caught it. He caught it over his throwing shoulder and used perfect footwork to make the throw. When you do the right fundamentals, the results are often good. The results were great there. Good on him.

Agreed. Completely textbook. To me that is also perfect leadership. Play the game right and you can expect others to do so.

Clint throwing the book out the window: Big Joe Musgrove pinch hits in the 8th.

The count went 2-1 and Steve B offers a classic line: “they’re obviously pitching around Joe.”

The he tags a ball to deep center that took a very good play to record the out. Steve again: “Joe was thinking at least 3 all the way. He would have been very difficult to live with.”

And Burdi gets the call in the 8th.

SO

Pop fly that turns into a bad looking collusion between Gonzalez and Marte. Both still down after several minutes.
