Why isn’t he up here and starting on the Major League roster in this outfield?? Why isn’t he getting any playing time or a chance to sink or swim. The guy is 24 years old now and was a 1st round pick. He should be up here playing and see if he has it or doesn’t have it. It’s as simple as that. Are they going to keep him in AAA until he is 27 years old and is he not better then Cole Tucker or Jake Marisnkck to be on the roster and starting?? Nobody is blocking the guy. Give him the spot and let him play it’s now or never.

Well he was hurt almost all of last year.  He has little AAA experience, he has never dominated or even had a very good season in any of his time as a professional. He skipped AA ball and played in just 12 games at Indy last season.

IMO, his best case scenario is to show he is ready for the majors by doing well at Indianapolis.

So far he is 1-8 with 4 strikeouts with the Indians (by the way will they be named Guardians soon?).

He hasn't played in the field yet either.

Another strike against him is that he was a Huntington first round draft choice. We’ve seen how those guys have worked out.

Other than his 1st round pedigree, Swaggerty has done nothing to earn a promotion. His minor league numbers have not been good.

He also missed all of 2020 when the pandemic shut down MiLB.

If we went by that, we wouldn't call any suspect up.

Swaggerty had the game winning hit last night, and already has a couple hits tonight. He is still the DH due to his throwing arm soreness, but if he keeps hitting, and gets healthy we could see him possibly in May.

Swaggerty hitting and playing well is a big boost to the organization. Hope he keeps it up.

He should be up here now or fairly soon along with Cruz once his 16 games played of one less year of free agency are up. We don’t need to see Cole Tucker anymore or a lot of these other guys that are currently on the roster. What’s the worst that is gonna happen if Swaggerty is called up and given a chance to get 4 at bats a night and play everyday are they gonna lose more games?? I just don’t get it and I’m tired of the Pirates continuing to treat these high level prospects with kid gloves. Be more aggressive with these guys and call them up and let’s see what they can do. They will be better Major League players moving forward in my opinion if they are given that chance to play on a daily basis instead of continuing to rot in the Minor League’s.
