Roster construction and competition for taxi squad .......

In addition to the shortened MLB season it also seems that there will be no minor league baseball this year, as teams cannot financially exist without fans due to the fact there is no TV revenue.

Given that, MLB's 50 man roster (30 MLB level and 20 taxi squad) could be manipulated to allow for a 25-25 split in order to have a semblance of a triple-A type season with scheduling that mirrors MLB. When the MLB team is at home the "minor league" squad could be playing the counterpart on the road. This requires additional expenditures but gets the best players on the field playing comparable competition.

My guess is that if you effectively had two teams, they'd travel together and the B teams would play an early game.

I like that idea. Doubleheaders everyday but with two rosters. They could also allow 5-10 of the Triple A players to be eligible to play in the major league game as they would be readily available.

I'm not sure people get it. Half our guys- probably more than half- ARE minor leaguers.

No wonder we finish last.
