Injuries are inevitable. How will the Pirates respond when players currently on the 26-man are put on the 10 or 15 day IL?
Predictions, starting with the position players:
Catcher: Tempted to go with Heineman, but I really do believe that Endy Rodriguez will get a cup of coffee if either Hedges or Delay get hurt. Heineman would require a 40-man move.
1B: Although it will mean that the Bucs will have to DFA a fungible RHRP (probably Ramirez), I think they'll bring up Miguel Andujar, risking that when he's sent down, no team will bite due to his 1.5M salary. That covers Santana and Choi.
2B: If Bae or Castro land on the 60-Day, we might see Nick Gonzalez, but I think for shorter absences, Tucupita Marcano will replace Bae, and Mark Mathias will replace Rodolfo Castro.
SS: After the wailing and gnashing of teeth, we'll see Liover Peguero if he's not slumping at Altoona. If he is, I expect Marcano or Mathias will be Plan C.
3B: If Hayes is hurt, I think Mathias gets the call. Tempted to say Andujar, but that would only happen if he's absolutely lighting up AAA, and they want to find a place for him. Castro would probably move over from 2B, with Mathias at Utility.
OF: Travis Swaggerty should have started over Jack Suwinski, so that switch is obvious. I suspect that he'll also be first in line as Reynolds' or Caleb Smith-Njigba's replacement. If Conner Joe or Cutch get hurt, I think Andujar will get the call.
Starting Pitcher: Luis Ortiz and Mike Burrows are easy choices, and I think it will depend on who could most easily slide into the rotation. Better question: who leaves the rotation when J.T. Brubaker comes back?
Relief Pitcher: I'll go lefty/righty here. Yerry De Los Santos is the favorite righty but Colin Selby could surprise. Better question: who gets sent down or DFA'ed when Robert Stephenson returns from the IL? Moreta and Holderman have options.
I don't expect Jarlin Garcia to be an available lefty any time soon. I'll make a wild guess: Angel Perdomo or Dan Zamora will get the call if Rob Zasrtrezny or Jose Hernandez heads to the IL. I've soured on Caleb Smith.
Who can we least afford to be hurt? I'll go with Oneil Cruz.

I think a catcher injury brings up Endy.
Anyone hurt at first I don't think they make a 40 man move, I think they just roll with one guy as an everyday starter, and use Connor Joe as relief.
I think Marcano fills in for Cruz or Bae, along with Castro.
If Hayes goes down, I think we see Mathias.
Any outfielder down, I think we see Swaggerty.
Relief pitchers, IDK, they'd probably go with someone off waivers or a trade if they don't think any of the 40 guys are ready for the majors.
A starting pitcher, I think it would be Burrows, but they may go with Priester there.
