The guy Mac learned managing a baseball club from was a certain Little League manager who chose to keep pitching to him after Home Run 3. Home Run 4 at the very most.

So, when "even Little Leaguers know...," a lot of times, they don't, either.

To be honest, I vacillate between Russell and McLendon. Russell looked to be in the dark all the time, but I don’t remember him talking very much. McLendon both looked and spoke far too much to prove without a doubt how in the dark he was.

Maybe his teammates in the dugout were banging on a trash can so he knew what pitch was coming.

The kid crossed home plate so many times, I'm surprised that he didn't just dig the thing up and take it home with him.
