I just hope the Pirates can keep Milwaukee under 47 runs this weekend. *fingers crossed*

On the bright side, giving up 10 runs last weekend would have been the best pitched game of the series.

On 9/27/02 Lloyd McClendon had a champagne party in the clubhouse because the Pirates had "only" lost 87 games and there were only 2 left to play. So he threw a party to celebrate not losing 90. (Of course they lost the 2 remaining games to top out at 89.)

The current Pirates have lost 89 with 8 more to play so it's looking like no champagne for them. Maybe Clint could throw a party if they don't lose 95. Or if Nutting foots the bill they could drink Boone's Farm Strawberry Hill wine.
