I can't decide which of the Pirates' hits has been my favorite. Oh wait. They don't have any. They were shut out in Coors with Frazier resting. Maybe they'll be no-hit at Coors with Reynolds resting. Ya know, you just can't say enough about the value of rest. And it's even better that when the foolish teams that win a lot are forced to play more games after the initial 162, the Pirates can relax and watch the post season from their couches, taking naps as needed.

Rockies starting pitcher Marquez has a hit. That's more hits than the entire Pirates lineup combined. Marquez at .179 is closing in on Polanco at .197. The Polanco/Marquez batting race (especially with Polanco "heating up") could become a focal point of interest for the rest of the season. My money's on Marquez.

John. Mister Wehner. It wasn't one pitch changing things. DeJong is no good. He's a relief pitcher, a mop up one at best.

Not surprisingly with their Murderers Row lineup; the Bucs have been no hit through 5

Well, at least he took his time on the throw and didn't exert himself. Proving that it's possible to play and rest at the same time. Shelton will be elated.

Looking at Diaz now with the Rockies, I wonder why the Pirates let him go. He certainly is better than Perez

Block: "What's making Marquez so effective?"

What I WISH Wehner had said: "You did see the lineup he has to face, right?"
