Nova To Tigers

Post by MaineBucs »

Well, Ivan Nova is now off the Board. Tigers sign him for $1.5 mil and undisclosed incentives.

Not that I was pining for Nova to again be a Buc, but geez, more and more it looks like we are going to enter the 2020 season with last year's undermanned pitching staff. Read no depth.

Also --- another lefty alert. Tigers designate a lefty named Matt Hall.

Nova would have been a nice addition. And I'm not even saying he's good any more. I'm just saying he's better and certainly more reliable than most of what we have.

I can't believe we would enter 2020 with our starting pitching as currently constituted ... which means a lot of pitchers who would be a No. 4 or a No. 5 in a normal rotation.

Going to be a LOOOOOOOOOONG year.

Another relative low cost starting pitcher off the market. I am surprised that the Pirates have not yet signed a pitcher or two to compete for a starting rotation spot for this season.

$1.5M Wow

If we can’t afford or refuse to dish out a couple of mil for a guy that was a work horse for us a couple of seasons ago; then there is no hope. You would think just to provide some depth that we would bring him back.
