The Athletic.
I don't know what to think about this outlet. They seem to be in the process of scarfing up just about every writer from every local news outlet. Today Ed Bouchette (Steelers HOF writer) And Steven Nesbitt Pirates writer for the P-G went there. Now it's good that it sounds like they're treating the writers nice (or at least promise to) but I don't really want to see the traditional papers take any more of a beating (though I'm sure they're bound to leave us here soon).

PG ownership is making everyone on staff miserable with their idiotic management decisions. I doubt a guy like Bouchette, who's been there for 40 years, leaves without that being the case.

I know their Pittsburgh staff is practically all of the old beat writers and columnists from the big papers and many TV/radio personalities too.
And that is just here. There are all of the other cities plus many famed national writers too. The MLB staff: Ken Rosenthal, Jayson Stark, Peter Gammons, Jim Bowden, Eno Sarris, Joe Posnanski, Andrew Baggarly, Grant Brisbee, Emma Span
How much did it take to lure those guys away from ESPN, etc?

I am a subscriber and after a trial period I found it very informing not just on Pgh stuff but other cites and teams that interact with Pgh teams. Also great coverage of NCAA FB & BB. Also nice chat Q&A sessions for writers of each city and their particular sport. Well worth the cost.
