When you have Gonzalez and Pablo Reyes up at the plate with a chance to win this is what happens you get what you pay for. Losing games like this early on for this team the way they have done so is just not good for fan morale. The Pirates better snap out if this little funk they are in here to start the season and they better do it this weekend at home against the Reds.

Does anyone on here want to see Josh Bell up with the game on the line, he's batting .143 and Gonzalez is batting .176.  This is no fluke, he is so lost, and batting 4th, so so so stupid.  He'll maintain that for who knows how much longer but I'm for putting Moran on 1st and see what happens.

This is just a team full of question marks and average players on the field. For Coonelly Huntington and Nutting to say on opening day this team is full of talent and core players is a complete joke.

one of the issues with needing to win games by relying on 3 or more relievers is that all the relievers are not going to be going to be great each game. You need to have big enough leads to withstand a reliever giving up a couple runs.

3 run lead in the 7th shouldn't be lost very often. 3 run lead in the first is not nearly as safe.

1-3.

All 3 losses with blown leads in the 7th inning or later.

The bullpen was allegedly a team STRENGTH.

But the bullpen is just one of this team's MANY weaknesses.

And the front office CHOSE to go this route ... meaning, they CHOSE to not sign any LEGITIMATE MLB TALENT.

66-96.

Pirates starting pitchers just went 12 innings vs. the Cardinals and allowed a grand total of 1 run, on a solo HR.

But the Pirates went 0-2.

Going to be a LOOOONG year ...

Yep these losses as I mentioned earlier are gonna kill fan morale early on and anybody who might want to get excited about this team is not going too. The 10th inning was a perfect example of why this team is not going to win when you have up at the plate JB Shuck, Erik Gonzalez, and Pablo Reyes with the game on the line. None of those guys would even be here if this team went out and signed some better free agents which they definitely could have done but refused to do so. The lack of clutch hitting on this team so far through 4 games has been as bad as the bullpen so far it’s a huge problem on this team and I don’t see it getting a whole hell of a lot better.
