I never ever ever thought in a million years a few weeks ago that this team would get back to .500 again this season but here they are at 49-49 after 98 games and still within 5.5 games of the 2nd wildcard spot with a lot of winnable games coming up on the schedule in the next week or so. I said 7-3 would be good enough in these 10 games to start the break against the Reds,Indians, and Mets and would put them at 55-52 with a lot of series coming up here in the next few weeks against teams they need to jump over in the wildcard such as the Cardinals, Rockies, and Giants. So I still don’t like this teams chances of doing anything with this but nonetheless it’s still a great opportunity to get back in this race and be relevant that is right in front of them.

Marte and Polanco hitting combined with the great starting pitching and bullpen work are the main reasons for this 7 game winning streak and the Pirates getting back to .500.
