Interesting lineup today. Good to see Martin in there. Let’s see if Williams can keep this ridiculous scoreless streak the Pirates have going against the Reds which is currently at 28 straight innings without allowing a run.

I hope that Williams brings a Bumgarner type bat with him today. Will be interesting to see how Martin does as well.

Who are these guys and what have they done with our Pirates?!

This is the type of decision making by Hurdle that drives me crazy. After winning 2 in a row with a chance to go over .500, we get this lineup. I don't mind seeing Martin in there but batting him leadoff puts extra pressure on him when he's never faced MLB pitching and hit only .211 in AAA last year. So on a day when it would be understandable if Martin struggled, they also bench Frazier, who's been their steadiest hitter, for Newman while also choosing today to sit Cervelli for Stallings. Maybe it'll work oit but Hurdle is stacking the odds against his own team.

Bell drives him in with an RBI double. Great start to this game.

Reds were generous. Martin, who stole 86 bases in the minors but was caught 66 times, gets a terrible jump on his SB attempt but Reds catcher can't get the ball out of his mitt. Bell uses one of his awkward swings but muscles a line drive that Puig doesn't seem interested in catching for an RBI-double. Thanks, Reds.

30 straight scoreless innings against the Reds hitters for the Pirates going back to opening day. That’s very hard to do if you’re the Reds but let’s hope it extends to 37 by days end lol.
