Lyles with a 1-hitter thru 6 innings but of course he has to be taken out because he threw 102 pitches. The formula is the formula. I'm sure the Cardinals will appreciate Lyles being taken out.

The one hit was a ball that could have been caught by Polanco.

Friday morning my wife asked me how the Pirates did the night before. I told her they lost 17-4. She feigned interest and concern. I told her maybe the Bucs would win the next three games 2-1 and we would be out-scored 20 to 10 but we would win the series 3 to 1.

2/3s of the way there.

Your wife may have feigned interest but I can tell you, you have our real-thing-no-kidding attention.  And if the Bucs win 2-1 tomorrow i can guarantee that the entire OBN Nation will be waiting for your projection for the next series with bated breath.

Nobody, not even our very own “Nothing Scares A Possum” Possum, was willing to give the Pirates the slightest chance to win another game against those Red Birds the rest of the season.

great win although I missed all of it which was probably just as well as I don't know if I could have taken the suspense.

I know that I have recommended going to Bucs Dugout as a good site for Pirate content but I want to withdraw that recommendation for now.
