Michael Grove is well traveled this season. He was optioned to OKC Dodgers on 3/24, recalled to LA on 3/30, placed on the 15 day IL on 4/21, sent to OKC on 5/21 for a rehab assignment, activated to LA on 6/3, optioned to OKC on 6/16, recalled to LA on 6/21, optioned to OKC on 6/29, and finally recalled today for tonight's start.
He made 4 starts in April, 3 starts in June, and 2 relief appearances in June. His longest outing as a starter was 5.2 IP on April 15th. He's given up 4 runs in every single outing in June except for 6/23, when he went 2 IP and 0 ER.

What's with Castro at 2B? Shelty needs to move Marcano to SS and Gonzoles to 2B.

Grove is right handed. Why isn't Marcano playing instead of
that knucklehead Castro?
that knucklehead Castro?

Dodger been short on pitching all season, Pirates need to take advantage.
Imagine playing in Dodger Stadium for the first time ! Just awesome for the guys.
Bae is getting phased out finally..

It’s mind-blowing. Castro is not the future. If he’s back next year it’ll be very disappointing. In fact, I hope he’s part of any trade deal that might take place this month. The sooner he’s gone, the sooner the other guys get more playing time. That’ll only help going into next season.

What’s telling about Castro is that he’s had the opportunity to compete with the other young middle infielders (Cruz, Marcano, Gonzales) and show that he belongs, but his response has been wanting.

The Shelington brain trust believes they are the smartest ones in the room. They've got stat geeks, analytics, metrics, trends, etc. They're on the cutting edge of theories on resting players, which they copied from an NBA team where the sport and its physical activity is completely different. They're way to smart to just play the best players.
What Cherington needs is an old guy in the front office. An old baseball guy. Someone to listen to all that super smart baseball technological data and say, "I don't care, just play the best players!" Shelington is guilty of paralysis by analysis. Too much data, too little common sense. There's always a reason to use a suboptimal lineup. Anybody could just play the best players. But Shelington is way to smart for that.
