A Couple Minor League Signings

Phillip Evans and Socratis Brito have signed minor league contracts with the Pirates with invitations to ST. Brito played for the Toronto minor league system last year so Ben Cherington would be familiar with him.

Like most MLB teams the Bucs sign some MiLB FA's and toss them in the mix hoping that one of them sticks or can be a guy they stash in AAA for emergencies. Can't hurt the team. It will be to the new management team to take a close look at each one and do a better judgement on them than the last regime.

Brito seems interesting to me. His minor league stats have been good, but he has not carried it over to the Big Leagues. Possibly the Bucs can untap his potential, and he would become a player off the bench. He is a lefty hitter so possibly he can take advantage of the right field stands at PNC Park.
