I'm hoping for an Alonso-Roberts showdown for the title.



Through all the various permutations of the event over the years, it's still great to watch. Brings back those black and white films from back in the day. Of course, those weren't in front of a house packed full of fans.

Home Run Derby was a great invention. My brothers and I played it constantly as kids, and even when we were young adults. We used a broom stick and golf ball-sized whiffle balls. We had more fun doing that than anything else we did.



But I haven’t been able to warm up to this latest version of it. I haven’t seen it since probably its third year. It just doesn’t grab my attention.
