Garett Cole has been struggling to begin this season. He has only pitched 11.1 innings in his 3 starts. He has not won or lost a game but his era is 6.35. He only pitched 1.1 innings in yesterday’s start.

He had the tendency with the Pirates; not sure with the Stros: keeping his emotions in check.

He's The Man. In NYC, expectations are high. The paycheck comes with strings attached.

Jesse Chavez swapped by the Cubs to the Braves, for Sean Newcomb. Chavez was acquired for Kip Wells back in 2006. I think that Ollie Perez is the only active player who was a Pirate before Chavez was.

Joely Rodriguez has become one of those guys I swore played for the Pirates, but he was traded for Antonio Bastardo before Joely ever reached the majors.

Whatever. Joely attained 11% of immortality on Friday by throwing an inning of the Mets 5-pitcher combined no-hitter.

Austin Meadows, with three hits yesterday, is off to a nice start with the Tigers. Although he hasn’t hit his first HR yet, he’s batting .328 after the first month.
