When Frazier was still here, one of the worst teams in the National League had two of its most prolific hitters.
Archer started for the Rays today for the first time since April. He gave up one hit in two innings before leaving because of hip soreness. That's a different injury than the one that kept him out earlier (forearm).

Good for him- hope he gets the opportunity to pitch in the playoffs

Adam Frazier didn't start the first game of the series against the Dodgers. Came on as a PH and stayed to play 2B, going 0-3. He's slashing .233/.274/.278 so far for the Padres.
It's as if we've traded Kevin Newman instead. Speaking of which, since Frazier's trade, Newman is slashing .274/.308/.452

What is amazing is that he has so many better players around him. It could be that there was no pressure playing in PGH. Now he is in a pennant race. Something he has never experienced

I think some players feel pressure to perform well for their new team and mess themselves up over it. Joey Gallo was only hitting .223 for Texas but had 25 HRs in 310 ABs (1 every 12.4 ABs). Since the trade to the Yankees he's hit .143 with 4 HRs in 84 ABs (1 every 21 ABs). And he's in the middle of a lineup with Rizzo, Stanton and Judge. If anything he should be doing better for NY than for Texas. Just As Frazier is in a better lineup with SD. I guess they put a lot of pressure on themselves.
