Joe Musgrove throws first no-hitter in San Diego Padres history in win over Texas Rangers

We're going to be tortured by these types of events all season long.  Good for Musgrove, though.  He's the kind of guy any player would want for a teammate and any fan would want on his favorite team.
It's a shame he hit a batter . Would have had a perfect game

Yeah, that's too bad.  But at least it wasn't one of the fielders booting a ball.  If I did that to a pitcher I'd be inconsolable.

Imagine how Don Hoak felt in the 13th inning on 5/26/59.

With his temper, it wouldn't have been good to be his roommate that night.
LOL. Good point. I know his roommate in 1960 was Elroy Face. I wonder if that was the case in '59.

Elroy was small enough to hide under the bed, if he was quick enough to get there.

Good thing we didn't have to suffer through him pitching a game like that while he was here. Pffft, one walk. The bum.

It's early but Josh Bell's batting a robust .105 so far. He'd actually look good in CF if he were still here.

Can you imagine the throws with polanco next to him? They'd make Yankees fans look like amateurs

There'd be a 50-50 chance the balls they threw would go in the general direction of the infield.

Marte left the Marlins game today with an oblique injury. Too soon to determine how long he will be out of the lineup.
