But this was his first year of arbitration eligibility and he signed a 1 year 2.05 million contract to avoid arb.

Dang, maybe Huntington was smarter than we thought. He was an honest-to-goodness visionary.
And now that don't need to worry about getting it again and being sidelined during a critical series of games, actually works out for players who get it pre season. Guess you could say I don't thing NH was a visionary.

The one thing I'm sure about regarding Huntington was his inability to recognize talent.
I just learned tonight that Oliver Perez set the MLB record for the longest big league tenure for a player from Mexico (18 years). I didn't even know he was still pitching. He was here nearly a generation ago, when I had quite a bit more hair than I have now.
