Meadows with another multi hit game, and 4 rbi. I am impressed the way he is hitting this year. Never saw this coming.

Luplow's 7 HRs for Cleveland are more than any Pirate except Bell. And now NH seems to think Newman, who was deemed worth being a 1st rd draft pick, might be the answer at SS after all. Hey, can we have Luplow back? And Meadows? And Glasnow?

Cutch out for the season with a torn left ACL. That is too bad for him.

He was in a rundown and made a quick pivot to go back to 1B when he suffered the injury.

The Bucs dealt David Freese to Dodgers for Jesus Valdez (20 year old infielder who played in Dominican Summer League last year).
I assume he has been in extended spring training but wondered if anyone knew for certain?
Here is his link:

also wondering how O'Neill Cruz is doing. Any word on if he will be back this season.

Harold Ramirez is hitting .346 for Miami. But that's ok. At least Toronto paid Liriano's salary that year and the Pirates also obtained Drew Hutchison.

IIRC, a lot of people defended NH at the time, claiming Ramirez and McGuire would never amount to anything anyway. And this is the first season Ramirez has made it to the majors. He's only 24 and doing great, so I thought it was worth mentioning, as opposed to beating a dead horse. Also, we as fans are still dependent on the same management team that made that deal as well as the Archer deal, which does not inspire confidence in future deals as we speculate about Marte's future.

I don't remember anyone defending NH at that time. I think everyone thought it was a terrible trade and a money dump. The issue was about how terrible the trade was. In particular, both of the Pirates prospects were rated very highly. Many didn't actually think they were that good. Personally, I always like Ramirez a lot. I never thought much of McGuire. On the return side, I think a lot of us tried to like Hutchinson so that we weren't so dejected. We know how that turned out...
