So as I mentioned before a win tomorrow gets the Pirates back to 1 game under. .500 at the break with both the Reds and the Mets two teams below the Pirates in the standings being 7 out of the Pirates first 10 games after the All Star Break. They are back to 6 games out of a wildcard spot. I won’t be foolish enough to jump back on board of the Pirates turning this thing around but they are really making it look really good the last few days.

Bucs could get on a run for sure … Many teams have done it in the past after the break . Why cant we for a change at least make it fun before Steelers games start .Hell that's all I ask for. :o

It’s the great Scarecrow v. Tin Man debate. Who is the Wizard of Oz character that doesn’t have any money? That’s the guy we need to be fearful of when we’re paying Cervelli a bunch of it to not be able to catch next year.

My observations from the games live:

1) Marte is an elite talent. 173x more natural ability than the rest,

2) Polanco has serious power,

3) I had no idea that Holmes threw as hard as he did. He pitched really well,

4) I have no idea what they are doing with Meadows. Please send him to Indy so he can play regularly,

5) Moroff should get more opportunities to play,

6) Luplow mashed the ball today. He looks like he has significant power,

7) Freese is.a useful asset,

8) Hurdle has NO clue. We won in spite of him today.

Play of the day: strike him out/throw him out with Diaz throwing from his knees

Never would've believed we would hit 7 solo HRs AND Holmes throws six shoutout innings.

Btw, I missed the three "Walk the Plank" trivia questions by only 1.

Most shutouts by a Pirates staff?

Most consecutive saves without blown save by Pirate?

Most hits in a season by a Pirate?

Actually, Hurdle has made his critics eat crow this week. Every line up and move has worked. Great week to be a Bucco fan.

I do agree that the play of the day was Diaz throwing Broxton out from his knees. Also the Villar tootblan helped

These new "injuries" are very disappointing to me.  Truth be told, I just wanted Cervelli out of here asap.   My least favorite bucco.  I didn't expect us to get much for him.  Now, he's untradable.

His June/July numbers (what little there are due to these injuries) point to April and May being a gigantic mirage, he doesn't have the bat to play 1b and provide any value.

Albatross contract. Perhaps we will package a few propspects with him to get rid of his salary?

I don't get that. He's having concussion symptoms of which he's had several. Why the anger and insults toward him for that?

Basically? I don't like him. Never have. I guess I should be more sympathetic to a baseball player making 10 million dollars a year who manages to play about 50% of his games.

Thank goodness he didn't try football or hockey, I guess
