Mlodzinski gets to start an inning without anyone on base finally, and does a great job. Carpenter getting a hit off a Pirate pitcher is a rite of passage.

All season long, in every MLB game I've watched, the HP umps have had an expanded strike zone. Much more so than in recent years and conveniently in the season in which shortening games is a priority.

But in each game, the announcers act like they are surprised at the enlarged strike zone that day by that umpire, as if they haven't been seeing the same thing all season long. I suspect MLB instructed the umps to expand the strike zone this year and that the announcers know it and can't point it out. So they have to act surprised in every game.

Snell done. He gave up as many runs to us tonight as he did his last 5 starts!

Shelton likes to tell players to bunt who have never bunted. Golly, what a swell manager.

Shelton loves two things: bunting with guys who don't bunt, and sending runners on contact.

So you're bunting guys up with Hedges on deck.

Why does Brown keep saying he offered at that pitch? Just because he was squared around?
