Was thinking what the hometown Braves might have next year, I live in greater Atlanta, GA...They have former Cinny Reds RH OF-1B-Adam Duvall sitting on their bench. Chances are he may not be with them next season as they have so money to spend in off season. If the Braves pursue a Bryce Harper or another big name, he could be available. Also vet, LH hitter and OF, veteran Nick Markakis could be available, as he is going to be a free-agent. A lot of tread still left on Nick's tires. The guy can play ball. What say the Battling Buccos pursue either of these players? What do other Pirate fans think? Both players have some pop in their bat and could play the OF until El Coffee returns... 8-)

Pass on Duvall. His numbers this season were just awful. I would definitely be interested in Markakis. I think he will be looking to cash in after a strong season. I don't think the Bucs would be willing to pay him enough to eventually be a 4th OF.

I always felt Duvall’s stats were inflated playing in the Reds small ballpark. I could see McCutchen signing with the Reds and he will hit 35 to 40 homers.

Duvall hit .195 this year and struck out 30% of the time. He's a career .230 hitter. Not exactly the cavalry coming to the rescue. Just another problem to have to overcome. No thanks.

Cutch isn't going anywhere. The Yankees are happy with him. I expect they will decline his option but he will resign for several years. He provides something they don't have, a patient hitter with a good .OBP.

If Adam promised to do a repeat of 2016 (.241, 33 HR, 103 RBI) or even 2017 (.249, 31-99) then I would consider it only if he agrees to improve his OBP, which sucked both years too boot.

So, in other words, pass. Think he benefited from playing in that park.

I like the way Markakis plays, but he is about to turn 35 and just had his best year at the plate since 2012. If he'd take a 1-yr deal and be willing to be the 4th OFer once Polanco is back...

They may make a run at him if the other options (see the FA OFers thread) get too costly. He'll probably be one of the vet FAs waiting on an offer unless the Braves reward him with a new contract.

Cutch is not in the starting lineup tonight in the Yankees most critical game of the year. I do agree, I can see him re-signing with them, but this must sting him a little bit.

he was not good in second half, just 701 ops. He is at 4th outfielder stage as far as production goes but he will want a regular spot.
