I think Tucker is going to have to hit .280 to .300 in AAA to get serious consideration for a return in anything other than a utility role, if that.

I just dare some party pooper to say that's not sustainable.

I guess Vanessa Hudgens is going to need to adjust to dating someone who is at AAA and who may be mired there for most of the season. Hoping that this demotion does not cost him a girlfriend.

If she loves him enough she will buy him a personal bus with his own driver and she can be a travel attendant.

Truthfully, I'm not surprised Tucker was sent down. He's a really likeable kid but he hasn't shown much to this point, so much so that he didn't even play his natural position last season when 2020 was a throw away year. For management to not consider him an alternative to Gonzalez and a struggling Newman was a big failure. He's more and more looking like another poor first round pick by Huntington.
Several things worked against Tucker. He missed some of ST with an injury. He has an option, which Gonzalez does not. And first and foremost, he did nothing to earn a spot. If he's going to have a career in MLB, he'll have to find a level of hitting that he has not yet demonstrated.

That is a remarkable stretch for any player, in any league, at any time. I am sure he had some good breaks along the way, but run-of-the-mill hitters don’t go 16 for 22.

One of his hits today he took a full swing, just did clip the ball, and rolled it neatly right up the third base line where it bumped the bag. Single! LOL. He's had a few of those. I wonder how much attention this would be getting if he had this little hot streak after two or three hundred at at bats tho.

Can someone explain the difference between being optioned to the minor leagues and being "reassigned to minor league spring training"?

If you are on the 40-man you have to be placed on optional assignment to the minors, which is generally shortened to 'optioned' when being talked or written about. That can be done in three seasons total (with some exceptions for injury) before you are 'out of options' and have to remain in the majors. If you are not on the 40, you can just be reassigned.

Thanks for that. I didn't realize the difference had to do with being on the 40-man roster.
