Too many fans of the Pirates opponents using the same strategy to keep him in the lineup.

Is there anything not working against us Pirates fans?

Hell, I'd be enthusiastic, too, if I was hitting .235, had no power whatsoever, and somebody still had me playing centerfield at the major league level. Well, for the Pirates, anyway. ;D

Since Reynolds is back, I am going to guess he returns to the lineup tomorrow, and Alford will take Tucker’s place in centerfield. Alford has done well at the plate tonight.

Tucker's limited hitting might be acceptable if he was a slick fielding shortstop. Unfortunately for him, his role on this team is to be a slick fielding shortstop exiled to the outfield so that lesser defensive players can play shortstop. Hey, do these guys know how to use their personnel or what? ;)

True maybe 20 years ago. These days, slick fielding shortstops get replaced by slick fielding shortstops who hit.

But novice outfielders who don't hit can get replaced by Aunt Edna. His only chance is to improve his hitting to an acceptable level for a slick fielding SS. As an outfielder, he's a non-hitter who's learning the position. Why even bother?

Tucker is a minor league ball player with a lot of enthusiasm.  We are wasting at bats on him. Has Cherington saw what he has yet?

No, even though his mother has seen enough of Tucker to know that he belongs in the minor leagues.

Believe me, I know Tucker has a long way to go. I do remember that Mike Trout was hitting 119 his first year and was sent down. Sometimes you just have to give people time. Look at Weenie. When he first came on this board, everyone thought he was a jerk. Now only half the people think so.

Haven't seen it for a while, but someone finally dusted off the well-worn 2020 version of....The Roberto Clemente Apology!

That kind of thinking puts us in dead last and no hope in sight.

Here's my response to that:

Cole Tucker is no Mike Trout.
