So we trade a guy that actually was one of the better performers in our rotation for cash.

We couldn’t at least received a good A or Rollie League prospect.

Cherington completes a deal that Nutting will undoubtedly love :) --- sells Agrazal to the Tigers for cash.

To be clear, I am not busting Cherington for selling Agrazal. He apparently has concluded that he has little short-term or long-term value to a rebuilding franchise. I'm not sure I agree with his assessment as I viewed Agrazal as an emergency depth option; using him as a stop gap starter when a regular starter goes down to injury. That said, I am not concerned with the move.

Let the new regime begin.

Sorry the repeat thread. Got lost when I started to post it and in the interim others had already started a thread.

I don't think other teams were beating down Cherington's door to acquire Agrazal. If Cherington and those of us at OBN were counting on Dario to be a part of the rotation in the future we must be experiencing the dreaded NH Disease. I would hope the Cherington got more than the Rule V fee for him.

It will be interesting to see what if any moves are made for the rotation. Last year I felt Agrazal was just a AAAA pitcher. He had already been DFA'd the year before. Didn't dazzle anyone with his pitches. Just seemed like emergency AAA depth. I'm hoping BC saw Agrazal as being not acceptable in terms of the quality they want from their pitchers. But that only makes sense if they can do better than Agrazal in 2020. With their internal options, Agrazal wasn't far off from being in the rotation. So I'm hoping BC has some moves in mind to bring in better options.

I wonder how much we got for Markel and Agrazal. I wonder if we will ever know.

When we traded Luplow to the Indians, I took it as a sign that we were aiming higher. Then we signed Chisenhall and Cabrera. I am wondering if I am wrong again to think - or is it hope - that we will sign a better starting pitcher than Agrazal.
