I don't think their are many left here that would give him better than a C, but I'm curious to find how just how many of us dislike him and how much.

I gave him a C rating, but I still believe in him, but his hands are tied by a tight fisted owner. He cannot exceed the budget that Nutting sets before the season.

I gave him a D based on his overall record. If 2018 is similar to 2016 or 2017 I would change to an F.

I gave him a D because he is still breathing. I would give a corpse an F

What are we basing this on? His overall tenure or this past off season?

Basing it on last off-season is using a very small sample size and basing it on overall performance uses a larger sample size.

Can't speak for wvbucco but I based my vote on overall performance.

Just saw a tweet a little while ago that the Pirates are now the only Major League team to not sign a Major League free agent so far this off season. That’s just flat out embarrassing. I simply hate this management team more and more everyday.

It a question of his ability to do his job well, but that would definitely based on his overall tenure as well as the current future outlook. Doesn't have to be a ton of thought involved. You can go with your gut feel.

I don't know how to grade this. I have to believe, and he has shown in the past, that NH a smart baseball guy. He's not incompetent. He has to know this team is going to be bad and that not signing ANY major league free agents is not a good business decision.

But you know he must be operating on a directive from Nutting that basically is, "Don't spend any money on this year's team." I mean that has to be it, right? There's no way that Nutting has opened his wallet and is encouraging NH to spend money and win, but NH isn't doing it because he's just very content and confident with this team as currently constituted. There's no way that's happening. So it has to be the alternative, which is Nutting ordering him not to spend.

So I don't blame the fact that his front office has done NOTHING on NH. I'm surprised he doesn't just resign and say "I can't work under these conditions any more."

He signed the 4 year extension along with Clint knowing who he is working for and what he has to deal with in Bob Nutting. So I have no sympathy for Huntington because he chose to stay here and if he is comfortable being a yes man and a mouthpiece for Bob Nutting which he has clearly turned into then he deserves all the criticism thrown his way.
