To get scored, he must have a major league contract.

They claimed him off waivers so why is that not a MLB contract ? He is also on the roster. He is not arb. eligible until 2022. So in my opinion that is a MLB contract which is under the 0 to 3 years of service.

I don't make the decision of whether or not it is a major league contract. I use rotoworld and prosportsdaily. If they say it is a major league contract, I go with it. If they do not, I do not score that player.

Yes, Perez was on TB's major league roster thru the end of the 2020 season. Being waived doesn't put him on a minor league contract. He merely went from one MLB ream to another and is currently on the Pirates 40-man roster where he is expected to remain and be the Bucs #2 catcher for 2021. It's no different than if this had been a mid-season waiver claim.

Guys the are signed shouldn't be scored if they hit sub .200 or have an ERA over 5.00 unless there is something good about them elsewhere.

If you can provide me a link to something that says he has a major league contract, I will score him. Otherwise he is no different than many other players who have been picked up off the waiver wire. Now, if he makes the club out of spring training, he will be scored at that point.

I don’t know the link, but 0-3 years service is an agreed upon salary under the Collective Bargaining Agreement with the Players Assoc. Question is Brian Reynolds contract for 2021 a major league agreement? I believe it is because he like Perez is a player under the 0-3 years of service.
