Not really. Only one of them had the word record in MLB last season. Fortuntately for us, we have the real deal.

Rangers signed RHP Joe Gatto to a one-year contract.

Gatto was a second-round pick of the Angels back in 2014, but he is now 25 years old and has yet to pitch above the Double-A level. The right-hander has a career 4.80 ERA, 1.58 WHIP, and 366/200 K/BB ratio in 448 1/3 total minor league innings. It's curious that he was able to land a guaranteed major league deal.

____

My vote is that we score him as a major leaguer since he has a major league contract even though he has never played in the major leagues, but I will go along  with the vote  of the blue ribbon panel.

If a human has never PLAYed in a MLB game, then he is not a MLB playER in my way of thinking.

Give all the contracts you want. Until you've stepped into a MLB game, you haven't played, therefore you haven't been a player.

If you're not good enough for your own manager to send you out there, then I will give a 0 score. You have to at least play to be rated above 0.

Wildwood, do you think we should score Gotto or not. He has never played in 1 major league game, but he was given a major league contract by Texas?
