Pirates claim a RH pitcher from the Rockies, Ashton Goudeau, who is 28 years old, and decide to release Will Craig.

Unfortunately, another 1st round draft choice has not demonstrated the ability to have a MLB career in Pittsburgh.  Goudeau has AA experience as a starter, so perhaps he is depth for the team.

They must see something in Goudeau, because looking at his minor league stats they are not very impressive. Hate to see Craig go because he did not have very much big league playing time to prove if he was a valuable player.

apparently the team finished its evaluation of Will.  If he is not picked up by someone and put on their 40 man roster is he a free agent?

MLB trade rumors says he has options remaining. Surprising to me that they pick up a pitcher and don't let any of the current ones go.

I guess BC was waiting for Goudeau.

BC must have been really unimpressed with those 4 ABs Craig had. Hopefully BC will make better 1st rd picks than NH did. Craig never tore it up in the minors but he did hit 23 HRs in AAA in 2019. He may clear waivers and get assigned to AAA. But some team may claim him as a former 1st rounder.

I always thought Walking Dead was a good fictional TV program on AMC, but now I am beginning to think we have a "walker" as GM.

Agree with Dave on both.

Agree with Shed on Cherington. We're going nowhere. Slowly, too.
