The MLB definition of a catch says the fielder must get "secure possession" of the ball and "firmly holding it." I think that was the issue. Palacious got the ball in his glove as the glove came off and he rolled on top of it. The ball was in the glove but Palacios did not have secure possession of the glove with the ball in it.

He had the ball caught though, him rolling over and the glove coming off IMHO is akin to an infielder dropping that ball pulling it out of his glove for a throw. The out has been made.

Cutch and Davis have had nice games. Now we need 7 more just like them.

4 pitch walk leading off for Arraez.

I just felt a chill come over me. You know, that one you get when a Pirates pitcher surrenders a leadoff walk

Last night was a good win but 3 runs won't win a lot of games and they only had 2 hits after 8 innings. Today they have 2 hits after 7 innings. This is just a roster of players who get hits infrequently and there won't be many days when enough of them get their infrequent hits on the same day and even the same inning to score enough (if any) runs to win.

This is why I favor a position player for the draft, and with the guy being a college dude, he shouldn't be long to get to Pittsburgh.

They've cobbled together a competent starting rotation, even with all the injuries. No real true 1 or 2 who can put their foot down, but they have not been the problem. The bullpen certainly was the main culprit in the 10 game losing streak, but the offense has been so horrendous, that right now I'd like to see some knee jerk moves. I'd like to see Rodriguez up, and Suwinski sent back down for one. Suwinski needs to get away from the MLB club to clear his head
